The Sugar Society presents Antenes
Butter Bar is excited to team up with newcomers The Sugar Society to keep bringing the pick of the world's electronic artists to Hakuba!
For their first event, The Sugar Society have outdone themselves in bringing us a special 3 hour journey from New York resident ANTENES. With her first solo EP released on the fantastic L.I.E.S. imprint in 2015, Antenes became known beyond her experiments in self made synthesisers and the modular world and has since garnered further affiliations from Silent Season and shares The Bunker NY tag with recent guest, Wata Igarashi. Antenes' output ranges from the ambient and experimental through to straight up acid bangers, her DJ sets known to cover diverse spaces interlinked with syncopation.
Representing North Country, the other stalwart of Hakuba's underground techno scene, C_Olvrin will kick things off as he does best exploring dense static filled atmospheres evolving over eclectic rhythms.
2015年、ソロプロダクションデビューとなるEP「The Track of a Storm」を〈L.I.E.S.〉からリリースし、同年JunoとFact Magazineのベストリストに選出された。

New York-based DJ, producer and electronics artist Antenes operates a laboratory of self-made sequencers and synthesizers using vintage telephone equipment. Known for her inventive soundscapes and eclectic DJ sets, Antenes treats the studio as a space for sculpting emergent patterns, textures, and percussion layers.
A Brooklyn resident by way of Chicago, her DJ sets dive into hypnotic, acid-laced techno, shimmering electro, shadowy atmospheres and beyond, with a particular ear for odd percussions and syncopations. Her sensibilities as a DJ have awarded three of her podcasts (LIES 025, Juno Plus 119, and Phormix 44) to be featured in Fact Magazine’s Week’s Best Mixes column. Her production debut, The Track of a Storm EP on L.I.E.S. reveals three tracks of otherworldly techno infused with “lazer shot synthwork,” “ghostly noise layers,” “muscular bass shapes and sparking percussions,"(per Boomkat) appearing on the 2015 best-of lists for Juno and Fact magazine. Her label affiliations are set to expand further, with forthcoming releases on The Bunker New York and Silent Season. Antenes is currently an Artist in Resident at Issue Project Room, co-sponsored by Bell Labs.
